How long did it take to turn a corpse into a mummy in ancient Egypt?

April 4, 2020 by Karen Hill

It took about 70 days to turn a corpse into a mummy in ancient Egypt.

Most of the wait included the drying process which included the use of salt.

When the Egyptians became really good at making mummies, advanced techniques were used which involved removal of all the body’s organs except the heart.
