Many non-Native Americans believe that Native Americans are a “vanishing race,” a group of people rooted so firmly in the past that they are doomed to die out.
In fact, the opposite is true.
The Native American population throughout the continent is on the rise. Native Americans, too, are working harder than ever to make sure their voices are heard.
As more and more Native Americans are educated as lawyers, doctors, teachers, and journalists, they are finding new ways to fight discrimination and command respect for Indian beliefs and traditions.
