How Much Electricity Does the United States Consume Compared To Other Countries In the World?

The United States consumes more electricity than any other country in the world.

The United States generates and consumes about one fourth of all the electricity worldwide.

China is second, consuming about one tenth of the world’s electricity, followed by Russia, Japan, Germany, India, and Canada, in that order.

The average person in the United States uses 23 times as much fossil fuel energy as the average person in India.
