What Was Pandora’s Box In Greek Mythology and What Was the One Thing That Did Not Escape From Pandora’s Box?

By Karen Hill

Zeus gave Pandora a box and warned her never to open it.

But Pandora grew curious.

Everyday she looked at the box and longed to know what was inside.

Finally, she could no longer resist, and she opened the box.

The lid flew open and a host of misery, sickness, and mischief spread out into the world.

Horrified, Pandora slammed the chest shut, but everything had escaped except for one thing, hope.

Even today, in the midst of misfortune and disaster, men and women still have hope.
