Chickens with brown feathers and brown earlobes lay brown eggs. Chickens with white feathers and white earlobes lay white ones.

That’s the most common variation. However, some types of chickens lay spotted eggs, while still others, like the Araucana and the Ameraucanas, lay blue or green eggs.

The earlobe rule doesn’t apply here.
