What is the only man-made object on earth visible from the moon?

April 26, 2020 by Karen Hill

You can’t see any man-made object on earth from the moon. It’s too far of a distance from earth to see anything.

If you look at pictures of astronauts on the moon with the full Earth behind them, you can see why—, Earth from the moon doesn’t look much bigger than the moon looks from Earth.

But we don’t fault you for thinking otherwise, because this myth has been around since before Sputnik was launched into space.

The only objects on Earth visible to the naked eye from the moon are water, clouds, and sometimes some of the land masses, if the clouds don’t get in the way.
