Why Is Florida One of the Fastest Growing States In Population In the U.S.?

Florida is the fourth most populous state in America.

In 1980 Florida had 9.7 million people; about 18 million people lived there in 2009.

One reason for its popularity is its warm year round climate, which makes it an attractive retirement destination for people who no longer want to put up with cold, snow, and ice.

Also, the cost of living is lower in Florida than in many parts of the country.
