More than 4 million babies, about 11,000 a day, are born each year in the United States.
That seems like a lot, until you learn that more than 137 million babies are born in the world each year.
Only 1 of every 20 people in the world today lives in the United States, even though it is the third-largest country in population.
That’s because most of the world’s 191 countries have relatively small populations.
But added together, more than 6 billion people live on Earth.
