Bohemia is an ancient region of Central Europe that is now part of the nation of Czechoslovakia.
During World War II, when Germany occupied Czechoslovakia, a Czech patriot hid the jeweled crown of the Bohemian rulers. He put it in an oven in Hradcany Castle, in the capital city of Prague. But the ancient crown was discovered by the Germans.
According to legend, any imposter who puts on the Bohemian crown will soon meet death. A German official in Prague scoffed at the legend. He put the crown on his own head and on the heads of his two sons.
Within weeks, the official was killed by an assassin who had parachuted into the country. One of his sons soon died in a horseback riding accident, and the other was killed in battle!
