The rabble didn’t keep great records, but it was something like 17,000 beheadings and executions that occurred during the French Revolution.
Only 3000 of the executed were aristocrats and landowners, the bulk of them were peasants being punished for draft-dodging and other crimes against the revolution.
Another 23,000 people died in prison or battle, their heads still attached to their bodies.
All in all, the French Revolution was quite bloody. Even Marie Antoinette was tried, convicted of treason and executed by guillotine.
So was her husband.
