Where did Spanish immigrants settle in the United States?

Better educated and skilled than many of the immigrants who came through Ellis Island in the early 1900s, Spanish newcomers often stayed in New York City.

Some traveled west to work as ranchers or farmers. Tampa, Florida, was also home to a large Spanish American community.
