Which Countries Does the United States Trade With the Most and Why Is International Trade Important?

May 9, 2020 by Karen Hill

Not surprisingly, the United States conducts most of its trade with its two neighbors, Canada and Mexico.

It also trades heavily with China, Japan, Germany, South Korea, Taiwan, and Great Britain.

The United States has led the world in imports for decades while simultaneously remaining as one of the top three exporters of the world.

Many businesses compete for a share of the United States market as it is the number one customer of many companies worldwide.

The United States is the top export market for almost 60 trading nations around the world.
