The ride from beginning to end covered a distance of 4,631 feet, more than three-quarters of a mile! And the roller coaster’s steepest drop, 115 feet, could send a rider downhill at speeds of more than 55 miles per hour!
The biggest roller coaster in the world today is Kingda Ka, at Six Flags Great Adventure, in Jackson Township, New Jersey, USA. With the tallest drop, it is also the tallest Roller Coaster in the World at 465 feet, or 142 meters.
A roller coaster in Japan is 4,698 feet long, but it’s not as high as the California coaster.
The first ferris wheel ever built was also one of the largest! The wheel, named after its builder, George Ferris, was 250 feet in diameter and held thirty-six 60- passenger cars.
It was built in Chicago in 1893, but taken down about a decade later. Today, no ferris wheel in the world is more than 200 feet in diameter.
