How Were Dwarves Created In Norse Mythology and Where Do Dwarves Live and Breed?

April 11, 2020 by Karen Hill

Odin, Vili, and Ve created a race of dwarves from the worms and maggots eating Ymir’s body.

Like worms, the dwarves live and breed below the ground’s surface.

The dwarves became expert craftsmen, and the gods relied upon their skill to create weapons and sparkling treasures.

If the dwarves ventured into sunlight, they turned to stone, which explained the large numbers of small rocks scattered throughout Scandinavia.

It is said that the dwarves can be heard whispering to each other among the mountains and canyons, we call these whisperings echoes.
