Which State Has the Most Children Under Age 18 and Which State Has the Fewest?

Utah tops the list, with a third of the total population under age 18, followed by Alaska and New Mexico.

West Virginia has the fewest, where only one of every five people is under age 18.

About 70 percent of the people who live in Utah are Mormons, who tend to have large families.
